About the Project

AR industrial validation app for iOS and Android, integrating VisionLib and OpenCV to guide operators through complex inspection workflows.

Key Contributions

  • Rescued and stabilized a 4-year-old legacy AR project with severe technical debt.
  • Integrated VisionLib (iOS) and OpenCV (Android) into a unified application flow.
  • Improved spatial UX by replacing button-based rotations with touch gestures.
  • Abstracted differing AR SDKs and synced structured inspection data to Firebase.

Genre & gameplay: ValidAR / AssemblAR is an industrial augmented reality application designed to assist operators in field validation. It replaces manual checklists by allowing users to position and validate 3D models against real physical objects, ensuring all parts are correctly assembled. My contributions: Joined a 4-year-old legacy project struggling with severe technical debt (monolithic 5k-line scripts) and tight delivery deadlines. Unified two disparate AR workflows: Android (using OpenCV and manual positioning) and iOS (integrating VisionLib for automated tracking). Overcame organizational and legacy code friction by surgically removing non-functional legacy blockers without breaking production. Radically improved the UX flow, shifting from cumbersome button-based axis rotation to intuitive 1-finger and 2-finger touch gestures for spatial alignment. Delivered stable Android and iOS updates, successfully abstracting the different SDKs (VisionLib/OpenCV) and integrating validation results with Firebase.
