Genre & gameplay: GothicVania is an action-adventure prototype inspired by metroidvanias, focusing on combat feel, enemy encounters, and atmospheric presentation. Players fight enemies, explore small environments, and experience scripted moments. My contributions: Created combat systems using Unity animation, Timeline, and VFX to iterate on hit reactions, camera shakes and enemy feedback. Implemented basic enemy AI, state handling and encounter setups. Used the project as a testbed for improving my approach to combat feel, pacing, and visual feedback in 2D action games.
